Glad you landed here! My name is Audrey Mirabella Roloff and here is a snapshot of my story…
My name is Audrey Mirabella Roloff and here is a snapshot of my story…
I was born and raised in a suburb of Portland, Oregon with my incredibly supportive parents, loyal sister, and wild at heart brother. I grew up with an innate craving to explore the outdoors, a father who taught us all to ski before we could walk, and a mother that raised us all to know truth and love Jesus.
I’ve had the same best friends since kindergarten, “The God Squad.” They are the most creative, daring, bold, confident, loving women I know. Most of them still live within a ten-mile radius, and are married to their high school sweethearts.
“I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?” – Stand by Me
At one point in my life, I was a serious ballet dancer, competitive downhill skier, and an endurance swimmer. In high school, I gave all those things up to become a runner, which I was bribed into by my father (who ran for Boulder Colorado). The bribe was a first generation iPod…
My passion for running prompted me to “walk-on” to a Division 1 PAC 12 collegiate cross-country and track team. Later, I earned a scholarship, became a lead runner, and was the team captain for the Oregon State Beavers. Running remains one of my greatest passions. I double majored in Business (marketing and entrepreneurship) in college, and was very involved in a ministry called Young Life, where I fell in love with high school girls – specifically, these ones;)
The summer after graduating I married Jeremy James Roloff. Jeremy and I had sustained a two-year long-distance friendship, and a three-year long-distance relationship. We were only in the same city for a month before getting married at Roloff Farms, aka in his backyard. Our wedding was filmed on national television because Jeremy’s family is on a reality TV show, Little People Big World.
Just before my wedding, my parents moved from the suburbs to the country. Now they live on a farm one mile up the road from my husband’s family. The train trestle (our spot) where we got engaged is now in my parent’s backyard.
The day we returned from our honeymoon we moved from the pumpkin patch in Helvatia, Oregon to the concrete jungle of Los Angeles, CA. We lived in West Hollywood listening to choppers all day, sirens all night, and budgeting for parking tickets. Jeremy worked in production doing film and photography, and I worked for Gallo Wine Company in sales. We lived there for about a year before deciding to leave. It was not hard to leave LA, but it was very hard to leave our friends, since we had never shared the same friends before.
Through much prayer, mentorship, and many pros and cons lists we moved to Bend, Oregon.
Bend is a trademark of the northwest, and it holds a quality of life we were starved for. We are thrilled to be three hours from our families, and much closer to Roloff Farms where we hope to one day build our own home, and raise our own big family. Cheers to the generations of Roloff’s!
Jeremy and I have an eagerness to adventure, share, inspire, and learn. We hope to leave a lasting imprint on the world through this blog, and through our mission over at Beating50Percent.
I genuinely wish that I could learn your story over a cup of coffee by a warm fireplace. It’s likely that you are too far away for that, so please don’t hesitate to share how my writings and photos might relate to you, and what thoughts they provoke!
If you’re ever in Bend, Oregon, or visiting Roloff Farms, give me a shout! I would love to meet you!
