I wanted to get a quick update out before baby girl is here with us in this world! I am currently 39 weeks pregnant as I write this, but just wanted to recap some of my 3rd-trimester highlights!
We escaped to the Oregon coast for a little mini babymoon and to celebrate my birthday. We rented an Airbnb in Gearhart, Oregon. Gearhart is a tiny sleepy beach town just north of Seaside. I grew up going there because of the Young Life camp – Breakaway Lodge – that’s there. There’s not a whole lot in the town… basically a bank, bar, ice cream shop, and then the cutest coffee shop/diner – Pacific Way Bakery and Cafe – but it’s only open a few days a week. I love going there because it’s not touristy and it’s soooooo quiet and peaceful. It’s also not too far from another one of our favorite spots on the Oregon coast, Hug Point. We also spent some time in Seaside walking around, stocking up on salt-water taffy, and getting some delicious breakfast – the sweetest family ended up buying our breakfast, and that just made my birthday even more special. SO KIND.
Jeremy and I could walk to the beach from our rental, but on the night of my birthday, we drove so we could haul all of our campfire supplies. And yes, they let you drive your car on the beach in Gearhart! It was so warm (for an evening at the Oregon coast) despite my many layers;) There is nothing that Jeremy and I love more than sitting by the campfire together. Nights by the campfire make us feel “more us” than any other kind of date night. No fancy birthday dinners for me, just some birthday cake in my Carhartt, and soaking up our final moments “just us” before baby girl arrives! It was simply perfect. For my birthday gift, Jeremy also made me the coolest wall rack for all my oils, and got me a journal to write prayers to baby girl in:) You can see a picture of the oils rack on the wall in a photo at the bottom of this post! It’s UH-MAZING.
My sister-in-law Molly got married at the beginning of August! I was 37 weeks pregnant and in the wedding and it was 90 degrees that day… yikes… but her wedding was beautiful, she was stunning, and God was glorified. So stoked for them!!!

At 38 weeks pregnant, we FINALLY moved into our house!!!!! It was (and is) still a bit of an unfinished construction zone, but it’s coming together so well and we are thankful to finally be living in our own space! Jeremy has been working so hard to get the house ready before baby girl comes.
Well, 30 lbs later… here we are at 39 weeks! Baby girl has definitely dropped! I have crazy pressure down there and my pelvic bones are super tender. My hips are also really starting to ache, especially at night the hurt so bad! Eeek. But at least my little mover isn’t kicking me in the ribs anymore since she’s moved down… now I just have to pee every hour all night long;) She is still moving a tonnnnnnnnnn. How the heck does she have room in there to move so much?!
My belly button never popped or went flat like I thought it would. I must have a super deep belly button or something… Other weird body changes include lots of white spots on my skin. I’m hoping this is just a pregnancy/red head thing… I’ve heard you can get lots of weird skin things while pregnant, but I know most people get dark spots as opposed to light.
It’s so crazy to think that this precious little girl that I’ve been carrying around with me everywhere for the past 9 months, will soon be here with us!
Oils, supplements, & non-toxic products
Calm roller – Peace and calming + fractionated coconut oil. Roll on ankles, feet, chest, or spine.
Bump roller – Frankincense, lavender, and gentle baby + fractionated coconut oil. Roll on belly every night to prevent stretch marks, calm baby girl from all the Braxton Hicks,
Purification + Lemon – Diffused together in our house to purify the air from all the construction dust, chemicals, and smoke from the forest fires!
Gentle baby + Lavender – A few drops of each on my wool dryer balls so baby girls clothes, swaddles, blankets, etc. smell nice and calming.
Lemon + Eucalyptus – Combined in a spray bottle with a little bit of Thieves dish soap and water. I’ve been spraying this on our couches, chairs, my rocker, changing table, legs of the crib, and anything I don’t want Pine the kitty to scratch or get on!
ClaraDerm Spray – Started spraying this stuff “down there” at around 35 weeks to help prevent tearing
Earth mama stretch mark oil – This stuff smells amazing and I have been rubbing it on my belly every night!
Savvy Minerals Make Up Line – Slowly trying to switch all my make up products to be clean and non-toxic! So far I’ve been loving the Savvy Minerals Foundation, bronzer, and blush!
ART skin care line – My skin has been so much more sensitive since being pregnant, and this is the only face wash, toner, and moisturizer I trust right now.
Other healthy pregnancy things….
Throughout my pregnancy, I have been taking a prenatal vitamin, OmegaGize3, Life 9 probiotic, calcium and magnesium blend, and then evening primrose oil the past couple weeks orally (and now internally).

I’ve got all my oils for labor, delivery, and baby girl all packed and labeled! I made smaller sample bottle versions of the big oils so I didn’t have to transport a giant oils bag to the hospital… ha. I’ll prob do a post about which ones I found most helpful after labor and delivery. But for now, the must have ones on the list include: clary sage (labor support), gentle baby (for baby girl, calming/stretch marks), valor (hip alignment support), helichrysum (hemorrhage support), jasmine (contractions support) fennel (milk supply support), lavender (circulation, anti-inflammatory, calming), frankincense (on baby girl’s head when born), and stress away (duh..). I also made a labor “room spray” with frankincense, lavender, gentle baby, witch hazel, and water.

Other things, besides oils, that I am taking to the hospital with me (thanks to all the recommendations from friends and family) include; my own gown, robe for after, granny panties, Spotify playlist + music speakers, clothes to labor in the water, lots of snacks, cough drops, thick socks, my own pillow, Scripture affirmations, journal, loose comfy clothes, chapstick, nursing tanks/bras, flip flops, my own toiletries, camera, and a few things for baby girl:)
People are constantly asking me, “Are you so ready to get that baby out of you?!” And as excited as I am to meet her, I’m also trying to cherish our final days “just us” before baby girl rocks our world. In the waiting, I’ve been focusing on thankfulness, and gratitude has made me even more in awe of the beauty of pregnancy. I am so blessed to carry this life inside of me, not of my own strength and striving, but through God’s miraculous design for creating life. Focusing on each present moment, rather than longing for future moments, has made my heart abundantly thankful – and “thanksgiving always precedes the miracle.” As Ann Voskamp so beautifully puts it, “In a world addicted to speed, we blur the moments…” I don’t want to live through blurred moments. I want to experience the abundance of a life lived fully present – wide eyed, thankful, and brimming with joy.

I cannot believe our little girl could come at any moment… As nervous as I am for labor and delivery, I love that we don’t get to know exactly when she will come. To me, it’s a beautiful reminder that I’m not in control. It’s a reminder to surrender and trust God’s timing and plan because it’s far better than mine could ever be. It’s a reminder that God’s purposes will prevail even if my plans fail. Thank you Lord for being the author of life, my comforter, my strength, and my shield.
Thanks for following me on this journey 🙂
