My second-trimester update is coming to you a little late… as we have been in a crazzzzzyyy season of packing, moving, and buying our first home! As I write this I am 28 weeks pregnant, so technically I’m in the beginning of my 3rd trimester! Woah. Where does the time go!
Update
Pregnancy has been cooperating with me for the most part so far. I wholeheartedly believe that the Lord has been protecting me from a lot of the typical pregnancy pitfalls and discomforts because the rest of my life has offered plenty of that lately… Moving, buying our first home, lots of doctors apt (for Jeremy AND me), Beating50Percent, my always more clothing line, writing my always more devotionals, blog posts, filming for LPBW, traveling between Bend and Portland, and being 6 months pregnant. (Insert ripping our hair emoji)
A few weeks ago, we moved from Bend to Portland. The decision to leave Bend was not made without MANYYYY long, intense, and tearful conversations. Ultimately, Jeremy lead us in the decision to move back to Portland to be close to our families and the farm with baby girl on the way – eliminating the copious amounts of back and forth we’ve been doing over the past two years…. Moving is always hard. Not just physically, but emotionally – and not just because I’m 6 months pregnant… I have a tough time leaving places that hold so many sweet memories. I think Bend will always feel like home to us. I’m brimming with thankfulness as I reflect back on all of the ways that the Lord has provided for us, refined us, grown us, blessed us, and worked through/in us during our time in Bend. The hardest part about moving is hands down leaving our community. Our house church family in Bend is truly the most honest, generous, vulnerable, encouraging, accountable, God-fearing, spirit-lead, and Jesus loving group of people I’ve ever been given the privilege to do life with. To say our faith has been stretched and strengthened these past few years is a staggering understatement.
The women in our church threw me the sweetest baby shower before we moved. Love these Godly women so much!
I am torn between excitement and sadness – to be expected with such transitional times in life. Nevertheless, Jeremy and I spent our last day night in Bend celebrating with some pizza on our empty bedroom floor, a tearful (on my end) illumination of the past two years, and a prayer for all that lies on the road ahead.
Over the past 3 months, Jer and I have been on a mad hunt for a home in the Portland area close to the farm and my parents. We finally found a place that met our criteria at the end of April, and then went through a maze of nauseating complications during escrow and closing… We FINALLY got the keys at the very end of May, and we are living with my parents in the meantime while we fix it up a bit;) It’s a 1968 home so it needs a little lovin’… But we are excited to show you more of what we are doing to the house in future blog posts!
Cravings
My cravings have definitely lessened during the tail end of this second trimester but I am still craving sugar much more than normal. I also love my sparkling water with Ningxia Red!
Body changes
My belly is definitely growing, and I’ve had to actually buy real bras for the first time in my life;)
Baby girl likes to hang out on the right lower side of my belly, but she likes to kick her feet up into my ribs! EEkkkk. As a result, my upper right back has been so achy and my ribcage in the front on the right side feels bruised! Jeremy is convinced she’s a future soccer player, but I think she’s just practicing her running stride;)
My skin is actually getting a little bit better and I think this is partly attributed to being more conscious about what’s in my skincare/cosmetics and tossing the toxic stuff! I know I have said this sooo many times without execution, but I am still planning on doing a blog post about my favorite clean, healthy, organic, beauty/skincare products! But by far my favorite skincare products have been Young Living’s: New ART Skincare system, Boswellia Wrinkle Cream, and Mint Satin Facial Scrub. Also, Young Living JUST announced that they are launching an entire cosmetic line on Monday!!!!! AH. If you are interested in any of these products I HIGHLY recommend signing up >HERE<< as a wholesale member through Young Living and you can get them for 24% off!
It hasn’t been too hot here in Oregon so I have not dealt with swelling… yet…. but I’m sure that’s coming for me next;) We’ll see how much longer I can wear my wedding ring:(
Maternity Clothes
I feel like there are not very many cute AND comfortable maternity brands out there! I have been mostly getting away with wearing some of my looser or stretcher clothes and >>these<< low compression leggings or >>these<< jeans… But I have a feeling that is going to change in the next couple weeks as I keep growing, and it gets hotter!
Here are some of my favorite maternity items so far:
I’ve been hunting for good workout clothes for barre3 to no avail… I have mostly just been buying a size or two up in my Lululemon tops + Albion Fit (one of my fav workout clothing brands) makes a ton of stuff that is great for maternity, even though it’s not maternity specific. I’ve been able to rock the same size I normally do in most of their stuff and it still fits good!
Exercise
I’ve been continuing to teach barre3 classes in Bend all throughout my second trimester, but May was my last month of teaching because we moved… I had the opportunity to teach a prenatal barre3 class before I left which was SO much fun and I hope to teach more of them in the future in Portland!
I was very sad to leave the Barre3 bend studio and all my clients there. I had been teaching for a year and a half by the time we moved, and I had built a strong bond with my clients. I will miss the Barre3 Bend community so much and all the kick ass instructors there, but I am excited to begin teaching again in Portland after baby girl is in the world:) In the meantime, it’s been nice to be just a client again, as I have been taking classes in Portland since being back here. I seriously believe barre3 is the best workout for pregnant women. Period. I plan to keep taking classes until due day – body/doctor permitting!
Other than barre, I’ve been going on walks with Jeremy in the evenings a couple times week. It’s been nice to leave work, projects, and our phones for an hour or so and just walk together. I can’t wait to go for walks it in our new neighborhood when we finally move in.. which will hopefully be this month… *prayers*
Oils I’ve been loving
- Peace and Calming: I’ve been diffusing this every night in our room to keep me sane right now.
- Gentle baby, frankincense, and lavender in a roller: Roll on my belly EVERY night. Helps with Braxton Hicks and has prevented stretch marks so far!
- Brain power: Pregnancy brain…. this is a necessity for me right now especially when I write. We got a big project that we’ve been working on that we can’t wait to announce soon:)
- Jade Lemon: I’ve been putting drops in my water since our the water pipes in our new house tastes funky, and I love anything citrus/sour right now.
- Tea Tree Oil: Has helped me with some pregnancy issues that I prob shouldn’t discuss here… but seriously. This stuff is no joke. I also mix it with my Thieves cleaner and have been using it non-stop in our new house cause it needed A LOT of cleaning…
If you’re interested in learning more about oils, what kind I use, and why, you can read >>here<< These oils have helped me SOOO much throughout this pregnancy. It took me a year and a half of trying out a few oils here and there before I truly believed in them. I was a 100% skeptic at first. If you have oils questions or want more info you can e-mail me via the e-mail at the bottom of >>this page<< or follow the IG account I created for all oils and non-toxic cleaning, cosmetics, skincare, etc.Instagram: @morethanoils
p.s. Young Living is launching a make-up AND baby line on Monday!!!!! I cannot freaking wait!!!! So basically, now is the best time every to sign up….
To Do’s
Ummm… EVERYTHING. I still don’t have a crib, car seat, stroller, breast pump, you name it… Recommendations anyone? All I have is some cute girl outfits and this adroable toy sheep that I couldn’t resist ha! So it’s safe to say we have a long ways to go over the next couple months…Oh and just found a new doctor here, but I need to find a pediatrician now too!
We have been living out of our luggages at my parent’s house since we moved to Portland. Everything in our new house is still in boxes in our garage since work is being done to the house… So about that nursery… ha!
For now, I’m just hoping we can move our own stuff in/unpack boxes before baby girl decides she wants to come join us in this world! I am eager to be to have some organization and routine back in my life! Plus, working from my parent’s kitchen has proven to be a bit of a struggle… I can’t wait to have our home office set up!
In other news….
Meeting baby Jackson, my favorite nephew, was definitely a highlight this month!!! Jeremy and I are so much more excited to meet our little girl after holding this precious child of God in our arms!!!

We are so proud of you and Jeremy. Love essential oils as well. As for stretch marks zero after three babies(all grown up now) and several miscarriages(I w see those babies in Heaven) even if you do they won’t change who you are shining inside and out. We love you guys love the farm and look forward to yours and Zach’s children playing at the farm. Thank you for sharing keep shining bright. In His Name????????????????????
Congrats on all the exciting changes happening in your life! I’m currently pregnant too so this is just buying advice I’ve heard from friends and family. For the stroller, you can buy a basic frame for the infant car seat. They are very affordable and that way it’s a more manageable size. Once the baby is too heavy to keep in the car seat carrier you would need a legit stroller. Many moms have told me to be sure to buy a stroller that is adaptable to fit two if you are planning to have more children. Lastly, the breast pump should be free through your insurance. It’s super easy to order through any major breast pump maker website, ie Medela. Good luck and keep the blog post comin’!
So much fun! You look great, and I love your maternity clothes recommendations. Here are some recommendations of my own.
Crib: Delta Rowen convertible crib (has worked well for us so far – very pretty)
Speaking of cribs, you’ll probably need to eventually buy something like Cribwrap to protect it from those little teeth when they come in!
Stroller: Phil & Ted’s Sport (goes over any terrain, folds up nicely – we love ours)
Umbrella Stroller: Uppababy G-Lite (SO lightweight, easy to fold up, mesh back to keep kid cool)
Car seat: We used the Chicco pumpkin seat – Keyfit 30, and it worked well, but I really don’t have anything to compare it against. It is heavier than some.
A good blog to get ideas for items in the future: Lucie;s List – she does lots of reviews.
Two other tips:
1. Apply Aquaphor at every single diaper change as diaper rash prevention. Our little guy has not had a diaper rash since we started doing it. Our pediatrician suggested it whenever he had his first (and only) diaper rash, and we’ve been religiously putting it on every time ever since. It’s magical. We have it on Subscribe & Save from Amazon.
2. If you want some burp clothes that will really work, either get some high-quality thick cloth diapers (like from Gerber or Osocozy; decorate if you want!) or get the Aden and Anais burpy bibs. No others work as well as those!
So glad to have an update on how it’s been going! Excited for y’all and the new house! I’m 17 weeks pregnant and my sister (who’s had 3 kids) swears by the Medela breast pump. Says there’s no better kind. So that’s my one recommendation for you since breastfeeding (so awesome that you’re choosing to do that, btw) will be such a huge part of your life after baby gets here! Best of luck!
Hi Audrey! I love following you and Jeremy on Facebook. Sounds like the pregnancy is going Well! I am a mom to a 13 month old baby girl and it is incredible. So excited for you two!
I am mainly wroting to tell you that I pray you and Jeremy seriously research vaccines. I know it’s a hot topic but hear me out. I am also a Christian woman and a runner. I ran my entire pregnancy, going from half marathons down to 3 and 4 miles and the end but still….then our Lily was born and it was incredible she was just perfect. My husband and I knew nothing about vaccines and just went along with what the doctors recommended. However each and every time we went i felt sick about it and cried for says after something didn’t feel right. A child who typically would NOT settle in her car seat would fall asleep instantly after vaccines. We started researching and found some scary stuff. The ingredients in vaccines are poison. They are listed on the CDC website in black and whitr. Aborted fetal cells, aluminum, mercury, formaldehyde, and the list goes on. It is totally up to you and jeremy at this point but please research and pray about this. My husband and I did and we chose to no longer vaccinate.
YouTube videos such as “trace amounts”, “a shot in the dark”, and other shorter videos under “vaxxed” in the search will show you that these injuries are not “one in a million” they happen every day. Research vaccine court and compensation as well.
Anyway, thank you for sharing your pregnancy and lives with us and may God bless you and your growing family. 🙂
Please, don’t follow this “advice”. I am currently a med student and I can assure that reactions to vaccines are not common, and, even when they happen, the symptoms are mild (local pain, headache, low fever) and disappear within 48 hours. You can consult this information in reliable articles, like this one by American Academy of Pediatrics: (http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/68/5/650.short). Mind you that some of these symptoms may be caused not because of the vaccine itself, but because of the anxiety of taking it (this is called psychosomatic reaction). I believe protecting your child (and, by extension, other children too) against diseases like hepatitis, influenza, polio, tetanus, measles, rubella, mumps, and etc. is a right of the child and a duty for the parents. As for the composition of the vaccines, you can consult it in the CFC’s (Centers For Disease) website (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/additives.htm). As for the reason aluminum and formaldehyde are in some vaccines, you can see it in these document by Philadelphia’s Children Hospital (https://www.google.com.br/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://media.chop.edu/data/files/pdfs/vaccine-education-center-aluminum.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwiYpfiP9MHUAhUC4CYKHXimDzQQFggcMAA&usg=AFQjCNEkiLdJ5VpNCc1pen4iVyjRq1xnng&sig2=i6nFHcZoN_t-4OOv9kLq5g) and (http://www.chop.edu/centers-programs/vaccine-education-center/vaccine-ingredients/formaldehyde). All the links that I listed you are reliable and describe their references; they’re not YouTube channels with misinformed and sensationalist people. Since we are talking about health and science, it is important that the information you get comes from serious sources. Ask your pediatrician and your doctor for information too. Anyway… Sorry to bother you, Audrey. But I couldn’t read something like this and be quiet. Feel free to ask me anything. Wishing you a very happy and calm last trimester.
The woman who told her about vaccines being dangerous is absolutely correct! Allopathic medicine has harmed millions of people. Hepatitis shots for newborns of non-infected parents? Puh-leaze.
^^^Yes^^^
Loved reading this update! I’m also in my second trimester and still wearing most of my normal clothes. Hope everything goes well with your house and you can settled before baby comes.
I have watched your show and watched you all grow up. Congratulations on your beautiful nephew and that precious baby you carry. I watch all the reruns too! I am only 4’9″ and I can relate to your family. I hope all of your lives are blessed and everyone finds their true happiness. Where is Jacob and what is he doing!?! God bless the Roloff family in your future plans and welcome to parenthood in September!
I have a year and a half old little boy. He’s so precious. My husband and I live outside Edmonton Canada and frequently head to Banff, Jasper & Kananaskis to go hiking & skiing (I’m an ex ski racer like you! Husband is a snowboarder though :p). I LOVE my Bumbleride Stroller, it’s a single wheel on the front that locks which makes it great for hiking or snow (we gets tons of snow here lol). Also we have a Phil & Teds carrier. It’s a metal frame and has a stand. We used it during a trip to Disneyland and during all of our hikes. Seriously the best decision we made. I really was into what was popular with mom bloggers but discovered that it didn’t work for mine and my husbands life style, we wanted to bike, hike and be outside. The trendy stuff isn’t really practical for being active outside. Truly the Bumbleride stroller and Phil & Teds carrier are the best!
I am so excited for you and Jeremy! I am pregnant and due the same week as you are, so its nice to read about some of the stuff I’m going through, too!
Some suggestions:
Car Seat: There are SO MANY options. I recommend getting an infant seat to begin with and then going with a transitional one. You’ll want a seat that you can leave baby girl in and carry around without waking her at first. Chicco KeyFit30 is what I’ve got, but there are a ton of good options!
Stroller: There is a Chicco stroller that goes with the infant seat. Another great option is the Baby Jogger stroller. My brother-in-law and his wife use it for their baby girl and its amazing! They go hiking frequently (they live in Las Vegas so its different than Oregon hiking) but it makes it through their hikes nicely! Its light weight and super easy to collapse. I loved using it to push my niece around when we went to visit.
Breast Pump: Medela is a wonderful brand. And your insurance should cover a breast pump- I would call them and double check but most insurance companies cover them now!
Pediatrician: Since you guys moved back to the Portland area, I recommend Dr Laura Bledsoe. She is a WONDERFUL pediatrician with tons of experience. She is very down to earth and explains things thoroughly. Once your sweet baby girl is old enough, she will start to talk to her directly instead of asking you and/or Jeremy what is wrong/ etc.
I hope you enjoy your third trimester and that life slows down a bit for you guys! I am praying for you, Jeremy, and Baby Girl Roloff.
Loved this update! This time last year I was in exactly your place. We ended up moving at 36 weeks and though stressful and tiring, that nesting instinct is so good at getting stuff done! It was the most organized move ever. And when we moved, husband and I took 3 days off from work and went shopping for everything which was a great way of getting things done! We were completely organised for baby in the end. One piece of advice that stuck with me though was “the shops are still open after baby is born”, which was good to hear. We tell ourselves we need everything before the baby comes but you can go after too 🙂 Our baby girl was born September 1st. It’s hard, but you got this girl!! So many blessings coming your way 🙂
Hi! Enjoyed reading this and came across your question about breast pumps and thought I would drop a line to mention that your insurance may cover your pump 100%, you just have to call and ask about it. Usually they do to encourage breastfeeding. As far as pumps go, I would just Medela Pump in Advance 100%, I had to exclusively pump for my son for his first year and that pump worked like a charm! Also, with pumps be sure to get the right fit for the suction cups, otherwise you will blister. (learned that one the hard way!) and keep in mind you may be two different sizes. I was.
And as for the nursery, don’t you worry! I was all nutty that “we needed the nursery done before the baby comes” and did manage to finish it a couple days before labor, but realized that was one thing in retrospect I didn’t need to be so nutty about to finish because baby doesn’t even need it for first 6 months. Our son just slept in a bassinet beside our bed or on us. 🙂
Also, I’m so glad you discovered oils because they have been a game changer for us after lots of ups and downs with health so that will be wonderful for little abode!
Congratulations again! This is one the most exciting adventures that will only get better with time. Parenthood is amazing, crazy, wonderful, and the best thing on the PLANET. Jesus is so kind and I’m sure if y’all are anything like us, you will be staring at Jeremy often saying how you wish you knew her sooner because she will be the perfect fit and so will your journey because of the ways it was designed just for a specific glory to the Father to reflect. There is nothing more unifying that parenthood, turning strangers into friends. Welcome to the club! 🙂

my recommendations…. would be glad to share more or answer any questions. Our arrow is 18 months now!
Since you’re a runner I HIGHLY recommend the Graco Click connect travel system. Jogging stroller that comes with a car seat. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ours! Our little boy is 1.5 now so we don’t use the car seat anymore but it was incredibly convenient that it just clicks right into the stroller and you’re on your way! You two are so wonderfully inspiring and I pray for you every day.
Congratulations to you and Jeremy on the impending birth of your beautiful little daughter. I haven’t seen anything about any names you might be considering but I just have to throw one out there: Scarlett. I’m picturing her with that gorgeous red hair of yours, Audrey, and it just seems to fit. I wish all the best for the 3 of you. What a blessed child she will be to have you two as her parents.
Hi,
Can you please write a blogpost of how and often you work out? What type of work out is barre etc? Also how to make room for work outs in a hectic day. I would also love to read about your new house, what your plan is and how you are decorating it i love your personal style ????
Highly recommend the Medela Freestyle electric breast pump and the Medela Harmony for when you’re in a pinch and need a hand pump! The Freestyle is small and easy to travel with, I love it! 🙂
I would love to hear more about staying fit during pregnancy.
For car seats I recommend taking both cars to the store and make sure the car seats fit correctly in the cars before buying! Same with strollers if you have a small trunk! When I had to upgrade to a double stroller, we had to test out a few and take pieces off the stroller to fit in the trunk of my car…..shortly after I upgraded to my “soccer mom” van!
